Summer Ball Charity Auction and Luxury Raffle 2024
In aid of Heart of Kent Hospice and King’s College Hospital Charity.
On Saturday 8th June 2024, Somerhill will be holding its ‘East Meets West’ Summer Ball. As part of the evening’s festivities, the Somerhill Parents’ Association (SPA) are hosting a Charity Auction, compèred by master auctioneer, Duncan Sinclair.
We are also holding a Luxury Raffle for the whole Somerhill Community.
Every penny raised from both the Charity Auction at the Ball and the Luxury Raffle will be split between the two charities above. Please join us in supporting these extremely worthwhile causes.

Our Chosen Charities
Proceeds from both of these charitable endeavours will go directly to our two chosen charities – Heart of Kent Hospice and King’s College Hospital Charity, both of which have supported Somerhill families this academic year.
We are hoping to raise a total of £10,000 through the Charity Auction and Luxury Raffle and thank the Somerhill community in advance for their generosity.
Live Auction Prizes
Five lots have been chosen to be auctioned live at the Somerhill Summer Ball, as follows:
1. Four Ball at Wildernesse Golf Club
Worth £420
A fourball round of golf on any Thursday.
For over 125 years golfers have enjoyed the beautiful wooded course and warm hospitality the Wildernesse Club has to offer. Founded in 1890 the Club has a proud heritage and today is a private members’ club which offers a very special place for both members and visitors to enjoy the game we love.

2. A week in Cape Town accommodation

The stunning property was designed to seemingly float above the treetops with the pool deck offering panoramic views of Table Mountain. Having been featured in House and Gardens, South Africa, a 5-night stay for 6 adults or aged 12+ guests has been donated to the SPA to help raise funds for their deserving charities.

Duncan will be supported in the front of house by other members of the SLT who will also assume the roles of pot washer & dryer to ensure that your kitchen is left clean and sparkling.

5. Tonbridge Angels v Bromley

Join us at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium for this exciting pre-season friendly against newly promoted League Two side, Bromley Football Club.

Raffle Prizes
We appreciate that many of you are not attending the Summer Ball but acknowledge that you may also want to support the charities we have chosen. As such, we are holding a Luxury Raffle for the whole Somerhill community!
The SPA has collated an incredible list of prizes with something for everyone – wine tasting, theatre vouchers, cricket tickets, restaurant vouchers, seats at Britain’s Got Talent, shop vouchers and much more! All prizes are listed below with relevant details regarding dates etc.
The minimum donation for entry into the Luxury Raffle is £10. For every £10 you donate to our chosen charities, your name will go into the raffle for a chance at winning one of the prizes… the more you donate, the better your chances of winning!
Making donations:
- In advance – Donations can be made in advance and until midnight on 9th June 2024 using the Parent Booking System. These donations will be transposed by the School Office into paper tickets and put into the Raffle.
- On the night – Donations can be made directly from staff at the ball via a ‘tap and pay’ card machine. You will be given a paper ticket and asked to fill in the back of the correspondingly numbered ticket to put into the Raffle.
A donation made in either way is equal in value and merits a single entry into the Luxury Raffle (unless multiple donations are purchased).
Terms and Conditions:
There is no limit to the amount you can donate and the number of times your name can be put into the raffle.
The raffle draw will take place on 10th June with the winners being drawn at random.
Prizes cannot be exchanged. Must be over 18 to make a donation.
